Jan. 19, HUE
We've spent the past 2 days in HUE at a very charming backpacker's hostel. The first day we lounged around the hostel recovering from the "Soft Sleeper" experience. Yesterday we hired 2 motorbikes and toured around the city, visiting a few temples, the Citadel and a local village nearby.
Here are some snapshots. M will add more pics, my camera ran out of juice half way through the day.
This was taken at a Buddhist Pagoda, where we caught the last few minutes of the morning prayers. Very peaceful and lovely place.
These are the grounds of a very old tomb of an Emperor - his name I do not recall. :)
This is a view of Perfume River from a hilltop bunker that American soldiers used during the Vietnam war. Unfortunately we couldn't make out the full story due to our guide's limited English.
